  • Rest in Peace Firefighter Vincent Myruski

    On November 14, 2015 the Goshen Fire District and Dikeman Engine & Hose Company lost a long time member Vincent Myruski. He was 92.

  • Chief Elmer Budd

    On Friday, October 30, 2015 Chief Elmer Budd was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Goshen Chamber of Commerce. Chief Budd was born and raised in the village of Goshen and has been a member of the Goshen Fire Department since 1959. We are very proud of Chief Budd on receiving this award and honored to have him as a member of our Department.

    Fire Prevention Week

    During Fire Prevention week Goshen Fire District Fire Prevention Officer Mike Hoffman and his crew go to a number of schools, churches and daycare facilities to show our children the correct way to be safe during a fire. Not only do the children enjoy the visit but the men and women of the fire district enjoy interacting with the kids.

    On September 12, 2015 the Goshen Fire Department held their Triennial Parade. This year our Grand Marshall was Daniel Caplicki, Past Chief of the Fire Department and Current Commissioner. Fire Companies came from all over to help celebrate. Please see Special Events 2015 for more pictures.

  • 100 MILE RUN

    On May 24, 2015 twenty four Marines ran a 100-mile Memorial Day Relay from Albany to the Veterans Cemetery in Goshen to honor their fallen comrades. When they arrived at the cemetery the Goshen Fire District had the honor of greeting them with the American Flag hanging from our ladder truck.

  • Disabled Veterans Association

    On the third Thursday of each month the Dikeman Engine & Hose Company hosts the Disable Veterans Association in their meeting room. This meeting is open to all Veterans. If you would like more information or need assistance with any type of benefit please contact Pete & Laura Rollins at 845-291-1197

  • Firefighter 1 Graduation

    On April 16, 2015 the following firefighters completed Firefighter One School.

The Goshen Fire Department consists of three fire companies, the Cataract Engine & Hose Co., the Dikeman Engine & Hose Co. and the Minisink Hook & Ladder Co. We operate out of three fire stations, strategically located in the Goshen Fire District - Goshen, Orange County, NY. The Goshen Fire Department was formed in 1843 as a volunteer department. Many years later we still remain 100% volunteer! The department currently has 180 active volunteers and has responds to an average of 550 calls a year over the past few years. The members of this department average over 5,500 hours in training, drilling, and schooling each year.

Over the past two years, the department's Fire Prevention/Education Program has reached over 10,500 residents and students, with members accumulating over 1,000 hours in Fire Prevention related activities.

The Goshen Fire Department responds to fire and emergency calls twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, fifty-two weeks a year. The well-trained and dedicated members of our fire department continue to SELFLESSLY and VOLUNTARILY serve the community in a professional manner!
