    On September 11, 2014 the Goshen Fire District and Cataract Engine & Hose Company lost one of our longtime members.

    Frank H. McBride, Jr., died peacefully with his wife and four daughters at his side.

  • Captain's Jason Jones funeral procession

    On June 17, 2014 Captain Jason Jones of Orwigsburg, PA who was killed in Afghanistan on June 2, 2014, was laid to rest at West Point. The local fire departments were asked to fly a flag from an overpass along Route 17 which was the route the funeral procession was going to take to West Point.   • Girl Scouts

    The Goshen Fire District hosts a Girl Scout and Boy Scout troop. This past spring Girl Scout Troop 119 created a garden at the entrance to the fire house. They did a beautiful job and it is a welcome addition to the grounds. Thank you ladies. See the photo gallery for other photos.

  • 2014 ROAD-EO

    On May 27, 2014 the Goshen Fire District held it's annual Road-eo where our drivers test themselves driving various apparatus through 5 different obstacles. The first is driving between two cones and then backing up. The second is going thru cones with a quick turn at the end.   • 2014 SADD Demo at Goshen High School

    On May 27, 2014 the Goshen Fire Department and the Goshen Ambulance Corp put on a SADD demonstration at the Goshen High School. This is done every year just before Prom season to bring home to the students how dangerous it is to not just drink and drive but to text and drive. The Goshen Fire Department consists of three fire companies, the Cataract Engine & Hose Co., the Dikeman Engine & Hose Co. and the Minisink Hook & Ladder Co. We operate out of three fire stations, strategically located in the Goshen Fire District - Goshen, Orange County, NY. The Goshen Fire Department was formed in 1843 as a volunteer department. Many years later we still remain 100% volunteer! The department currently has 180 active volunteers and has responds to an average of 550 calls a year over the past few years. The members of this department average over 5,500 hours in training, drilling, and schooling each year.

Over the past two years, the department's Fire Prevention/Education Program has reached over 10,500 residents and students, with members accumulating over 1,000 hours in Fire Prevention related activities.

The Goshen Fire Department responds to fire and emergency calls twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, fifty-two weeks a year. The well-trained and dedicated members of our fire department continue to SELFLESSLY and VOLUNTARILY serve the community in a professional manner!


The mission of the Goshen Volunteer Fire Department is to provide the residents, merchants, and visitors of the Goshen Fire District with the highest degree of fire protection, rescue, fire safety education, and mitigation of emergency and non-emergency incidents in a professional manner with minimal damage to property while keeping the safety and well being of our members as our utmost ...more
