100 MILE RUN
On May 24, 2015 twenty four Marines ran a 100-mile Memorial Day Relay from Albany to the Veterans Cemetery in Goshen to honor their fallen comrades. When they arrived at the cemetery the Goshen Fire District had the honor of greeting them with the American Flag hanging from our ladder truck.
One of the Marines being remembered was Cpl Joseph Tremblay, 23 from New Windsor who is buried in the Veterans Cemetery. Cpl. Tremblay was a member of the Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment. He was killed in Iraq on April 26, 2005 when his Humvee was blown up by a land mine. He was one of 48 members of the Kilo Company that was killed in Iraq that year. This is the 6th time this run has been done and Sunday's run raised $30,000 to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
Larry Temblay Jr, 37 and the brother of Cpl. Tremblay ran with his 13 year old son thru the streets of Kingston to honor his brother. Larry is now an Army medic and has been deployed twice to Afghanistan and will be going back again soon.
Thank you to all the men and women in our armed forces for their service and dedication.
